Death of two Vice Presidents

We were sad to hear of the recent passing of two former players who were also Vice Presidents of the Club.

E. C. (Dick) Harman died aged 95 at the end of June in the Isle of Wight where he had lived for around the last 25 years. Dick was mainly a fine medium paced bowler and a hard hitting batsman. His playing career extended from the Second World War when leave from the Royal Marines allowed. He played for the Mitcham 1st XI until 1959 and then for our 2nd Xi until 1970.

Cliff Leonard passed away on 19th July, he was two weeks short of his 91st birthday. Cliff was a busy batsman and a brilliant fielder who played 2nd and 3rd XI cricket. He was also one of our hardworking committee men who carried out remedial work and improvements to the pavilion over many years. His service takes place at the South London Cemetery Rowan Road London SW16 5JG on Monday 22nd August at 1pm.
